Larry was born in San Francisco, CA. When he was eight years old his family moved to Taiwan where he lived until coming back to the Bay Area seven years later.
After hearing the gospel at a young age at his international school in Taiwan he'd had an awareness of God and chose to follow Jesus right before going to college at UC San Diego. His faith grew while at UCSD and attending Cru there. After graduating he interned with Cru in Oahu, HI where he started to see the need for Asian Americans specifically to experience the freedom and grace of Jesus. The following year he interned with Epic Movement in Orange County, CA and joined staff to serve there. (This team is where him and Whitney met!)
Larry's always had a unique ability to connect and care for others and after receiving his Masters of Social Work (2017) now cares for the community as a social worker for UCSF. He also loves sports (esp. Giants Baseball, 49-ers Football, and Kings Basketball... yes... the Sacramento Kings). For more information on his social work specialization or his love of Bay Area sports, feel free to email him!
